Since 2002, basketball teams have competed for a cup to determine the top club team in European basketball. Originally known as the ULEB Cup, the tournament changed the format in the 2008-09 season and has subsequently been known as the EuroCup. The ultimate winners are determined through a qualification process that begins with a Regular Season, with 24 teams competing. These teams are chosen based on their performance in their own domestic leagues. The Regular Season includes home and away matches for each team against every other team, and at the end of the season, the top 16 teams progress to a round-robin group stage.
