The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix is a Formula one motor racing event held at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrrari, often referred as “Imola” after the town where it is located. The event takes the name “Emilia-Romagna” from the Italian region where the circuit is located. The Emilia-Romagna region of Italy is 40km east of Bologna. The circuit runs in an anti-clockwise direction and is 4909km with 63 laps in total. Drivers push their cars to their utmost limits describing it as a fast tight experience.

Imola is a small beautiful historical city approximately 42km away from Bologna, located on the river Santerno. There are many interesting attractions within easy walking distances so take a stroll along all the cobbled streets and be fascinated at what this quaint little city has to offer. From shops and cafes, many elegant palaces, the Cathedral Baswilica San Cassiano Martire and the Church of San Michele. The Rocca Sforzesca, a massive castle, the Museaum of San Domenico with arts and history. This is among many things to see. To make it easy they have an excellent visitor’s office who can direct you. TRAVELLING TO IMOLA AND THE CIRCUIT
MONORAIL
The Marconi Express is a monorail and is the easiest way to get to where you want to go. At the Airport follow the signs to the Airports Monorail Station. Once there, there are machines next to the platform and that is where you purchase your tickets. It is open from 5.40am to midnight and will take you to the Bologna Central Station in 7 minutes. At the station you will find direct trains running to Imola which will take approximately 20 minutes. On arrival in Imola the number 2 bus from Imola Stazione will take you via dante in 17 minutes. The circuit is then a 10 minute walk from the bus station.
CAR
Hiring a car is another option and there are many options at the circuit for parking. From Bologna, it normally takes about an hours drive on the E45 toll road but expect a longer time as the roads are very busy on the race weekend. As a heads up try and get a parking space as close to the circuit as possible.
COACH
Travelling by coach can be arranged at the Airport directly to the track only for the Sunday 19th May if you are staying in Bologna. The coach from the Bologna Airport leaves at 5.15am arriving in Imola at 6am. The return coach leaves the circuit at 17.30pm and arrives back at the airport at 18.15pm. You will have to arrange your own transport to and from the airport. This is a round trip and can be bought at a reasonable fee, enquire at the Airport.
